Summary

St. Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “In all things give thanks” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). In this episode, Fr. Mike shows us how to live up to that challenge, helping us to see that everything we complain about can be viewed as an opportunity to praise God. This isn’t just good advice. It is what’s required of us as Christians. Sure, we will have times when we need to vent to a confidant; but—as Fr. Mike suggests—keeping our complaining to a minimum is a great way to prove we are striving to do God’s will.

0:15.9	That I can go through the whole list of like how things are, right?
0:18.7	I can go to all the positive stuff, I can go to all things that are going well, but

0:24.7	I always go to something that's off, right?

0:30.8	I find myself grumbling or I find myself just kind of like finding the negative thing

0:37.3	I'm just really tired, I haven't slept or how are you doing today?
0:39.8	I got a little bit of the stuff you know, so you know, how are you doing today?
0:42.5	I've got so much stuff to do.
0:44.0	I've got a lot of emails and maybe you're in this place right now in your life where you
0:47.7	have a ton of stuff and it's just all crashing down on you.
0:50.1	It comes to like assignments and projects and work and things people are expecting of

0:55.8	And when someone says, hey, how are you doing?
0:57.1	You're thinking like, well, I've got assignments and I've got projects and I've got a ton of
0:59.9	things people are expecting of me.
