I am so thrilled to have Holly Medwood on the show today all the way from Toronto. One of my favorite places, or quickly becoming one of my favorite places to meet people from.

Holly, how are you doing?

I'm good, thank you so much for having me.

Yes, so I'd love to hear about your background.

You have your own agency now, but you've had other jobs along the way.

And so I want to hear about your transition,

what got you into the wide world of digital,

and what brought you into starting your own business?

Oof a lot of questions.

What got me into digital?

I honestly had no intention in university of going into digital or any sort of marketing.

I'll be honest, I fell into it because of social media.

So I was going to school to become a writer.

I was in studying English and become a creative writer. And so to practice the craft of writing, I had a block for going back. Oh man, 12, 13 years now, there was no influencer, it was bloggers and so I would write about

things that were happening around Toronto restaurants events that sort of thing

and I was it did well and so I was approached by a company called the

Torontopath.com which is in Toronto there's actually an undergrad shopping

center that connects all of downtown it's about 30 kilometers give or take.

That's really cool. So they ask, can you do this as a job? If you do our social video, we'll pay you.

And so I was putting myself through school and the university is expensive so I said yes
