You know, like it's painted over, but you know the history is so rich.

Yeah, I mean, for me, maybe not a city, but I've seen neighborhoods back in Sudan that

my parents' generation said used to be these vibrant centers of culture, right?

They'd hold poetry nights there and literature festivals and now these same places are like

storefronts selling these American snacks like Cheetos.

Yeah, I mean, places are always changing.

It feels good sometimes and sometimes it really doesn't, but I've been spending a lot

of time sitting still, reflecting and one place I was able to do that recently was Charleston,

South Carolina.
