Hello and welcome back to Inside the Tape on Inside the Birds.

0:12.0

I'm Jeff Mosher with Adam Kaplan, and we're breaking down Eagles tape.

0:15.8

So that means we've got Greg Kosell with us here to break down the Eagles defensive tape against the Broncos in their 2117 loss.

0:25.3

A very strange game, Greg.

0:26.9

My impression was the defense played fairly well, obviously up until the fourth quarter.

0:32.8

But they were on the field quite a bit as the Eagles, I believe, lost time of possession by a lot in this game. They did. I think the Broncos had the ball for over 34 minutes and ended up running 70 plays, which is too many. Yeah. If you're a defense, it's too many. Yep. What did you notice from a tape study? Because every week we talk about Vic Fangio's philosophy. Is he going to blitz?

0:55.0

Is he going to go into zone? Is he going to sim? Is he going to extra man pressure? What was his

0:59.2

general philosophy against this Broncos offense? This was a coverage game. He didn't really,

1:04.4

he certainly didn't rush five or more. There were no snaps of zero. Only six of Nix's 43 dropbacks.

1:10.8

Did he rush five?

1:12.5

There were obviously some four-man sim pressure concepts,

1:16.4

but this was a coverage game, not a pressure game.

1:18.9

Now, he always, when he feels he has to,

1:21.6

he always increases his blitz frequency in the fourth quarter

1:25.0

because four of the six five-man pressures came in the fourth quarter because four of the six five man pressures came in

1:29.2

in the fourth quarter but for the most part the game plan was not to rush five it was to play

1:34.7

coverage we Greg we know wringo was a starter not a surprise at least to me but did we see

1:41.3

de jean at all at corner or was he just strictly nickel? DeGine played some corner, but they didn't play at the time. Only in base, right? He'll do the base. Yeah, only in base, yeah. Got it. Okay. And look, I made the point that five Eagles defenders played every snap. It was Bond, Dijin, Mitchell, Blankenship, and McCuba. So for the second game in a row, Mukuba played every snap, and Cambo played every snap but three. The guy that was interesting was Oji Lari, who I thought showed up in his game. Absolutely. Well, it's a ton. Wow, Greg. 34 snaps. That's a lot. So give us an idea. You mentioned Ojolari. What did he look like to you? I thought you saw, first of all, he's got ridiculously long arms and they really show up when you just watch him move.

2:23.7

That was one of the selling points when he came out because he's not tall, relatively speaking, but he has really long arms.

2:30.5

I thought he had some, he showed some speed to power. I thought he showed some quickness. I kind of liked the way he played. I thought he, I thought he had some, he showed some speed to power. I thought he showed some quickness. I kind of

2:35.8

like the way he played. I, you know, I thought he, you knew he was out there. He had a really good

2:42.2

pass rush on third and eight in the second quarter when he hit Knicks on his delivery,
