Hello, welcome back to Inside the tape on Inside the Birds.

0:12.1

I'm Jeff Mosher, and with me is Greg Kosell and Greg always breaks down the tape of the Eagles last game,

0:18.5

which was a 1312 win in Buffalo over the bills.

0:22.8

And if you thought the Eagles defense had been playing really well, then you came out

0:26.5

of that game, Greg, thinking they are playing on another level because they certainly answered

0:31.5

a challenge of basically having the game put on their shoulders in the entire second half.

0:36.5

We went through in the last episode, the offensive struggles in the second half, and that asked the defense to basically

0:42.0

win the game, which it did. So what were your biggest takeaways from strategically what the

0:48.1

Eagles did and how they operated against the bills? Well, I think they probably felt that they

0:54.0

could stop the run just with their

0:55.6

normal defense, which was pretty much the case. I mean, you know, I think Cook's long run was 10 yards.

1:01.0

He didn't have horrible numbers, but there was no big explosive plays in the run game, which is

1:06.1

something that they normally get. I thought, and we actually mentioned this, but I'll, I'll mention it again, because now we're talking defense. I thought, and we actually mentioned this, but I'll mention it again because now

1:13.5

we're talking defense. I thought they, I didn't chart it, Jeff, but it seemed to me just

1:17.9

anecdotally watching the tape that they featured a higher percentage of stunt concepts. And I think

1:23.5

that was opponent specific because those offensive guards, Edwards, and Tor are not lateral athletes and they struggle to redirect in past protection.

1:32.0

So I think that was clearly game and opponent specific.

1:36.5

And the reality is when you play the Bills, there's a couple of things you know going in based on studying the Bills offense.

1:43.3

Number one, they don't really have white

1:45.4

outs who can win one-on-one so they don't play an offense that asks that that can do that so it

1:52.0

becomes very schematic and not schematic intermediately or vertically schematic very condensed

1:59.6

that's what the tape shows that their offense is.
