to slash.

Top of Punch Bowl news this morning is an item from myself, Laura

Weiss and John Bresnahan on a presentation that House Republican Committee chairs gave in a

private meeting that detail the two and a half to three trillion dollars in spending cuts

that House Republicans are looking to enact as part of their reconciliation

package to offset those massive tax cuts that they are looking to put into place. This was a

presentation in one of these listening sessions that House Republicans had to go through this

week or went through to talk about the tax bill. They lay out a roadmap of where the Republicans

hunt for spending cuts is heading right now. The options range for more than a dozen possibilities,

curtailing student loan programs to large-scale Medicaid cuts to new immigration-related fees.

The universe of options is wide, but Republicans may need the scale of cuts to satisfy the
