When I was writing it I wrote a heap of the stories, and I said to my wife then,

can you think of anything I've left out, she goes through it,

and she says, what about when you got shut out St. Kilda?

I had no recollection at all what she was talking about and she said yeah you

remember you got shot at when I said no do you remember who I was with she says Billy

Paniotorus and so I ringed Billy and I said you remember did we get shot at when I was doing special duties with you?

He goes, what are you fair to him? I said, yeah, why? And he says, of course we did.

And as soon as he said the crook's name, he said Donald Hadley as soon as he said that I said

Donald George Hadley and we went through the details and then I had it all back again.

But up until then I had no recollection of it all.
