Richard, let's start off in 1983.

You were an eighth round draft pick of the Chicago Bears,

but you were one of the final pieces to that Super Bowl 20 jigsaw.

How did it feel when you were drafted by the Bears?

I mean, I felt great.

You know, like I tell kids today, some kids worried about being picked at

and some, you know, worried about the money that they said they lost a gain.

But, you know, whatever cash you get is more than what's in your pocket today, you know.

So you probably shouldn't worry about that.

But once you get there and you prove yourself and then you can begin to start asking for a little bit more cash.

Didn't exactly know where I were going.

But I'm glad it was the Bears, you know,

I thought the 49th wanted me. I thought Dallas wanted me and the Raiders wanted me,

and Bill Tobin came there looking at a quarterback,

playing that we was playing against,

and he saw something else, so that's great.

You went on to win it all in 1985,

but I think that NFC championship game defeat against the 49ers in 84 pretty much set the tone,

didn't it, for the following season?

Without a doubt, I mean, we, you know, the game before that against the Redskin,

I mean, we now leave the Redskin.

And, you know, then we went on in San Francisco and didn't really know exactly, you know,
