Welcome to Monday's edition of Inside the Huddle podcast with me, Darren Fletcher and Neil Reynolds.

Six days to Wembley and our big day in the NFL season. Today we're going to look back on the big stories and performances from week six and hear from some of the key people involved.

Neil, the only place we can start is a torn MCL and a broken leg, not for the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, but for the head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

What are the implications going to be going forward for them now that Sean Payton's got this terrible leg injury? Well, it is going to be a difficult one because he's going to want to be, he's the coach who leads from the front. And you talk about how how physical the NFL is. You've got coaches going down as well. Tampa, one of Tampa Bay's assistants went down on the sidelines as well. So I do think it's going to be difficult because you can't park a golf cart next to the field and standing up for three and a half hours on crutches. It's something that Sean Payton is going to try to do, but it is going to be a factor and it will be something they have to look at because he may have to call the game from the press box. I know he tried to do that in the second half yesterday. Couldn't even make it out of the locker room. He was in that much pain. So I know we kind of think, well, you know, it's all about the players, but the coaches have got to be there leading from the front, especially a head coach. So it's an issue for the Saints. Jimmy Graham has done a lot of good things for the Saints this season, but rolling across his coach's leg in the first quarter, he won't go down on that list. No, definitely not. And it was just one of those, again, like we said, the head coach is always the one that's nearest to the action on the field. They tend to have a get-back coach who gets all the players back behind the line, but, you know, the head man can do what he likes. And it was just one of those unfortunate, fluky situations. But, yeah, sounded like a real nasty one. You know, torn ACL and then broken kneecap as well. Not good. What I'm interested in is can they win consistently in that division, which is a stock division in terms of talent, with Sean Peyton hobbled? I mean, I know he's going to get the cast on. he's going to have the surgery, and eventually it's going to heal. But there's got to be problems going forward when your head coach has got that kind of injury. There will be. I mean, I'm trying to think back in, I remember a time in the early 1990s, maybe late 80s. Don Schuller had a knee operation and he ended up with a golf cart.

And look where the dolphins are now. Yeah, exactly. I don't think you could stick, like I said, I don't think you can stick a cart by the side of the field. It is a genuine thing to worry about. And you're right, a tough division as well because Atlanta got a win. We'll talk about Tampa, I'm sure in a few minutes, but it's going to affect him.

He's going to be having to struggle through. These coaches work long hours. He's not going to be able to go home and put his feet up and watch TV. He's going to be back in the office tomorrow. He's going to be there until midnight. It's a long grind, and he's not going to get a day off until the end of the season. having seen how hard it is to get accreditation for these games, there's no way that Sean Payton will get a pass to park a golf cart on the sidelines. We can't get a car parking pass, whatever stadium we go to. Parking pass for Wembley, no? Just as important, maybe even more so, another injury this weekend, to Jason Campbell, the quarterback of the Oakland Raiders, broken collarbone, out for the season.

He was managing games fantastically.

It also developed that ability to occasionally put the game on his shoulders and win it for the Oakland Raiders.

That's a huge, huge blow.

That is, because if you look at the Raiders, they've got the rushing attack already with Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.

The receivers are not the finished deal, but they're making plays. Jacoby Ford can make plays from anywhere on the field. Darius Haywell Bay has looked a little bit like an NFL receiver, which is a bit worrying in recent weeks. The defensive line is strong, but you need a quarterback in the NFL to win your games. And Jason Campbell is not a pro bowler, but like you say, he manages the game.
