It's a happier new new league year to a bunch of free agents that made a ton of money.

Yeah, there was a lot of money flying around.

More money in the NFL than ever before.

$167 million the salary cap and teams were spending like crazy Thursday night

opened us, as has been the case for the last couple of years, Jeff.

Not just free agent signings, but real drama.

A couple of years ago, we had the Jimmy Graham trade to Seattle.

Last year, we had Brock Osweiler walking out on the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.

And this year, let's start right there with Brock Osweiler again because he's traded from Houston to Cleveland in what is now clearly a buying of the second round draft pick.

So Cleveland gave up a fourth round pick to get Osweiler and his $16 million contract.

The Houston Texans basically wanted Osweiler off the books, clears up about

$10 million of salary cap space for them, but they have to give up a second round draft pick in

2018 to persuade the Browns to take him. This is something that maybe the NFL are going to look

closely at, Jeff, as it goes forward

because this was a clear trade purely to get a draft pick, wasn't it?

Well, I think so.

And, you know, I think that trade may, I don't know if revolutionizes too strong a word,
