Welcome to Inside the Huddle. I'm Darren Fletcher. Neil Reynolds is here as well. It seems so long since we did the last one. You know, because we do the two per week during the season, Neil. It seems so long since we sat down and went through all this. Oh, you missed me. Well, I won't go that far, but it just does seem a long time.

I didn't actually speculate whether it was a positive or a negative, but I just said

it was a long time. It's a negative for me, but, you know,

I won't get into that, but

a week is a long time in the NFL. I found myself

staring at the TV, watching men run 40 yards

a lot this week which is you know I tried it I tried it but I don't know why I did

it but I did you know if they gave them medals at the end yeah I'd probably be able to do that

and Emily Sande performed here and there yeah Beckham went past it on a speed boat all that kind of

stuff would be okay but I watched it and I thought yeah does it it really bear much resemblance to the NFL?

Can you really run like that when you've got the pads on and you've got Ray Lewis running after

you, that kind of thing? I'm not sure. I was watching, you know, I did watch a fair bit of the

combine this past week and I think that's the thing that people have to remember. And I think

the scouts will remember that is you have to look back at football tape.

You know, as we get closer to draft, you have to look at what they did in college on the field.

That's what counts, you know, and it's bizarre.

I know they do it for 40 yards is, you know, kind of the measurement they want for football.

But it seems like they barely get going, then they're easing up again, but I did watch a lot of it.

What I will say, when people talk about the combine

and they're buying too much, I'll say one name to you,

that is Vernon Goldston.
