0:55.9 | Tell us a little bit about growing up in Long Island and how that's sort of the pathway that you took to federal law enforcement. |
1:04.2 | Yeah, I mean, I lived up to every stereotype, Long Island stereotype, you know, gel in the hair, polyester shirt, you know, tanning. |
1:13.6 | We're the original, you know, Jim Tan Laundry folks. But I grew up in, you know, typical Long Island, you know, suburban life. I had great parents, great upbringing. I did okay in school. I did well. It bored me a lot of the times, |
1:29.3 | but I enjoyed some of it. I grew up in a neighborhood where it wasn't law enforcement, it oriented. |
1:39.3 | There wasn't a lot of people in civil service. It was a lot of accountants and other things. |

1:45.1 | hard to resist that path. I did have a sense that I wanted to be a physician. I always wanted to be |
1:51.3 | an orthopedic surgeon. It seemed like a good path. I was certainly interested in it. I studied |

2:02.2 | And I'll pretend to think that I could push through that and went to med school and been successful. |
2:06.2 | But I perhaps I like to think that I had a higher calling. |
