Hello, welcome back to Inside the Data on Inside the Birds.

I'm Jeff Mosher, and of course we're talking data.

We bring on our, we bring in our analytics expert, Sam Finkel.

And for those who might be new to the show with a new

season, Sam has been doing an excellent job helping us view the Philadelphia Eagles through a

different lens, an advanced analytical lens. And he's going to be with us all throughout

this Eagle season once a week. And then we're going to dissect the game that was, maybe

preview the game that will be all through an analytical lens. So Sam, not much change for

the Eagles. New season, 1 and 0. And the way they won was kind of a very Eagles regular season

way, almost unspectacular, but get the job done 2420 over the cowboys Thursday night and

now seems like it's been two weeks but that was the season opener and are you ready to take a

nice deep dive into what the stats say 100% let's do it the most important stat is not an

advanced analytical one it's one one. The Eagles are one.

No, right? Yes.

Hey, wins are hard. Go ask the Baltimore Ravens. They had a pretty big lead in the fourth quarter against the bills. And then lo and behold, they fumble, right? Derek Henry. And then all hell breaks loose. It made me think of the Eagles, right? And how unspectaccio they can look

offensively at times, but they don't turn the ball over and they don't allow for

comebacks like that because of it. Yeah, I mean, the signal caller cares about, you know,

winning no matter what and that shows. Awesome. Good stuff. So like we do, I'll remind the viewers and the listeners, we will show some, for those who watch on YouTube, we'll go through all of Sam charts. And for those who are listening, we'll do our best to describe what we are seeing on the charts. And Sam, I like that. The first thing that we always do is we don't go

way into the data. We just take a little bit of a look at the raw data, as we call it, right?

The stuff that's available on ESPN.com's box score, but there are things that jump out,

and we just go through that really quickly. So when you looked at the basic stats, anything jump out to you? There were a couple of things that hit me. Yeah, I mean, first and foremost, I was doing a little bit of tweeting during the game, which is a little bit unusual for me. I'd never really done that before, so it's a little bit new.
