I'm Brian Hyatt. This is Rolling Stone Music Now. It's Grammy Week, so I thought we'd bring you a special newsy episode.

We have a preview of this year's Grammy ceremony with executive producer Raj Kapoor.

Raj is also the Executive Producer and showrunner for the Oscars this year and he's had a long career in television.

In this conversation we go through some of the performances and he dropped some hints at least about what to expect.

wondering if there was any sort of particular mission statement for

this year's Grammys. There really isn't a special kind of theme, but what actually happened this year was just a kind of a

byproduct of the nominations.

So so many amazing women that were nominated this year.

And so when you look at those categories, it's just a testament to the artistic achievement and excellence in music that was so female driven this year. And I think that's the story we we almost considered doing an all-female

Grammy show this year because there was so many female nominees.

That's going to be an amazing night that's for sure just based on who has all the big nominations.
