Game 1 against the Houston Rockets, our own editor extraordinaire, Daniel Stark and with the Lakers practice today. We're going to talk a little bit about what the Lakers have been working on and what was some really interesting things said after practice today floating around

out there daniel how are you doing i'm doing well i mean this is a kind of an interesting week with

no games and whatnot i mean the playing games last night were incredible so that was fun but uh

feels weird with you know a full week without any Lakers basketball.

Yeah, I guess first and foremost, let's talk a little bit about the schedule that's coming up.

And I know JJ talked about it a little bit at practice today.

But the schedule came out. I saw the schedule come out that came out and I went, ooh, this is this isn't like unprecedented for a first round schedule, but this is pretty much what you were hoping to see if you were the Lakers with multiple days off between games for most of the games of the series.

What was the thought process from, from JJ when the schedule came out?

Yeah, well, first of all, like you said, this is definitely not unprecedented because

a little inside baseball here.

I look back on last year just to see when the schedule would come out.

And it was the Tuesday after the playing game last year.

So I kind of just wanted to get it ready, get, you know, get an article ready knowing, you know, we want to put something out, you know, when the schedule comes out. And I was looking at the schedule from the Timberwolves series last year. And it is the exact same one that we're seeing here. So I know a lot of people are trying to make a big deal of it. like, oh, they're trying to give the Lakers as much rest as possible. So we'll come back. I saw people in Houston were upset about that. But this is the exact same schedule as last year. It's been the same as previous years as well. That's just the nature of the first round. There's so many different series going on. They're not going to have

five or six games on one night. So naturally, there is, you know, going to be a little extra

rest there. But that there's no denying that is a huge benefit to the Lakers in this scenario.

Like, we'll see when Luca and Austin could come back, if at all. But I think game five would be exactly four weeks, you know, to when they got hurt. So, you know, we'll see if maybe they can make it, you know, make it back for the latter games of the series if the Lakers are able to extend it. But yeah, so it's two a day, like the game, between game one and game two last year, it was two days and then the same for.

Yeah, it was the same. All I had to switch was the TV networks and the time for game four.

Copy and paste. Yeah. All I had to switch was from Minnesota to Houston. But, you know, the day did, you know, how they spread it out is the exact same as last year.

They started it off on Saturday, then Tuesday, Friday, Sunday, and so forth.

But, but yeah, this was brought up in practice today.

And, you know, JJ didn't hide that it could help the Lakers knowing that they have injured guys,

knowing that LeBron James is
