Summary

Your ego self is the façade of yourself you have unconsciously and inevitably created as a consequence of living in a society, in a family, in a particular human culture.

This ego self is a protective construct; a version of ourselves we create in order to blend in, to be accepted by others, to be liked, to be seen as worthy or valuable... and most of all, to not stand out or be kicked out of the tribe.

Your ego is, therefore, concerned with your survival and with how you come across to others. Above everything else.

Join me for a discussion of:

  • how your ego self gets created
  • how the agendas and concerns of your ego often clash with the higher-level purpose and desires of your Soul
  • the ego's tactics for keeping you "safe"
  • how your ego feeds you lies and illusions... and how to start shattering them (to get your ego out of the way)

Thank you for being here and for continuing to do your inner work! It's not always easy, so I commend you for being committed to your healing and growth.

As you already know, you have an ego self, as we all do. This ego self is a facade of yourself

1:59.0

that you have unconsciously created just as an inevitable consequence of

2:05.9

living in a human society, in a family, in a particular human culture. Your ego self is a

2:15.2

protective construct.

2:25.0

So it's this sort of acceptable facade that we create of ourselves, again unconsciously,

in order to blend in, to be accepted, to be liked, to be seen as worthy,

2:37.6

most of all to not stand out and not be kicked out of the tribe,

2:46.2

which is always that primal survival instinct that sort of our reptilian brains are operating from.

2:56.4

So your ego self is concerned above all with how you look and how you're coming across to other people.

3:11.2

What other people think of you, how you're coming off in relationships, whether you are achieving success in the way that success has been defined by your society or your family,
