Hello, dear listeners and fellow spiritual workers. Welcome to another episode of

inner work. I hope that you are doing well in your corner of the world, wherever it is that you are,

that you're finding peace within yourself and taking time to care for yourself and others.

So today we're doing a deep dive into one of the most, let's say, controversial, sometimes kind of hated

cards in the tarot deck.

This is Major Arconum number five, the Hierophant.

And I've been thinking about and working with this card a lot lately, especially in light

of where the world is and where I want

the world to go next. I think we can derive a lot of important lessons from this card,

really deep lessons, and maybe demystify some of its controversy or make it more relevant

for where we are right now.

So many tarot readers do not like this card or don't feel a connection to it.

They find it difficult to connect to this card.

Because let's just say in the most basic terms, this card represents tradition and authority.

It also represents the patriarchy in many ways, so I can see why this card can feel off-putting

or difficult to connect with.

But I want to go beyond these instinctual responses to the card, maybe this like instinctual distaste for it,

and talk about the important ways in which it can actually help us.
