Hey guys, welcome to the podcast. In this episode I chat with LAPD Officer Chris Jay.

Chris has been on the job for about 15 years now and he happens to police the exact same

neighborhood that he grew up in. I found this to be super interesting. It's a pretty rough part of the city with a lot of gang activity happening.

He takes us along with him on his first gang shooting and death. He talks about dealing with an insane person, pulling human feces out and threatening

police with it. He also talks about the LA riots through the eyes of a child. Chris was only 12

years old when the riots happened and he witnessed a bunch of crazy stuff just from the

rooftop of his apartment building. Chris has some great stories, some really cool experiences and

it's just a it's a very inspiring story a kid growing up in the

inner city and then overcoming all these hurdles and becoming a police officer

Chris is also the founder of Blue Coat Music Incorporated.

This is a not-for-profit organization

that remembers and honors fallen police officers

and their families through the power of music

and other events.
