The teachers' unions are more interested in radical leftist political power than student

achievement is increasingly recognized, and today's guest brings two new pieces of evidence

to pile on the scales. First, AFT president Randy Weingarten,

the under-recognized villain of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced to a video conference of radical

left activists that she was leveraging teachers' pensions against Target to get the company

to denounce immigration enforcement. Then we dive deeply into Union Del Barrio, a radical anti-immigration

enforcement group that may take control of Los Angeles's Teachers Union.

Stu Smith of the Manhattan Institute, who surfaced the Wine Garden clip and recently wrote on Union Del Barrio, joins us to discuss.

Stu, before we begin, can I tell us a little bit about your work with the Manhattan Institute?

Yeah, so I write for a city journal, and I'm looking at all kinds of domestic extremism,

and that takes all kinds of forums.

So one day I'll be writing about how education is getting more and more radical.

The next day, I'll be writing about how various activist groups have

ties to global terror. So it's always quite eventful and just trying to bring to everyone's

attention some of the very concerning things going on in America. So let's start with Randy

Weingarten and Target because that was sort of what

inspired us to reach out to you to come on the program. What, who was she talking to? What did she say

and why should it be concerning? Yeah. So this was a schools drop ice mass call.

So I would call this a movement call where you have all these various organizations meeting up.

And there are various leaders talk strategy, exchange things like toolkits.

And so this was AFT, the AAPUP. It's called Hello, but it's higher education, labor
