Second Amendment policy issues under the second Trump term have recently come into focus,

thanks to the one big beautiful bill's inclusion of a provision to remove the taxation,

registration, and regulation of suppressors under the National Firearms Act, with the Senate version expanding that to include a full repeal of the 200, registration, and regulation of suppressors under the National Firearms Act,

with the Senate version expanding that to include a full repeal of the $200 NFA tax on other

items, including short-barreled firearms. 2A advocates see this as a significant win and are

undoubtedly looking forward to revisiting Second Amendment policies, thanks also to a February 2025 executive order

that seeks a review of federal actions from 2021 through 2025 that could potentially infringe on Second Amendment rights.

Here to discuss these policy shifts is Knox Williams, president and executive director of the Americans

Pressor Association. Hey, Knox, how you doing?

Hey, I'm doing well, Sarah. Thank you all for having me on. Yeah, thanks for joining us. Okay, so first,

just to start, tell us a little bit about the American Suppressor Association and a little bit about you.

Yeah, sure. So the American Suppressor Association is a nonprofit that represents the suppressor community.

So everything from manufacturers to distributors, dealers, and consumers.

It's an organization that I found it and helped found in 2011.

At the time, I was working for a manufacturer of suppressors.

I live in Georgia, and the law in Georgia stated that you couldn't use a suppressor to hunt.

And I just thought that was ludicrous.

So, you know, we stood up this organization to effectively try and change that law, but not only in Georgia across the country.

I wanted people to be able to own suppressors in all 50 states to be able to hunt with them in all 50 states and also to get rid of the

NFA tax on them. So those are kind of our key goals. We've obviously built out from there over the years,

but that's really at our core is we want these things to be legal in all 50 states and we don't think
