Inflation is getting close to the Federal Reserve's target rate.

The Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge is showing further signs of easing,

the Commerce Department's Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index declined to an annual

rate of 2.4% in January. Month over month, there was an acceleration, but that could

be a bump in the road.

The Commerce Department wants to launch an investigation into security risks posed by

connected vehicles made by Chinese companies.

It will propose new rules.

This comes as electric vehicle maker,

B.Y.D. plans to expand outside of China.

Meanwhile, the Transportation Department is proposing a rule to make it easier to find

airlines for damaging or misplacing passengers wheelchairs.

The department said such incidents have increased.

The Federal Aviation Administration is giving Boeing 90 days to come up with a plan to fix

quality control problems.

Boeing said it would comply.

It's under intense scrutiny since the door plug blew out of an Alaska Airlines

Maxjet last month.
