I'm just going to begin by saying that I think we have lived through hyperinflation.

The lowest estimate on purchasing power loss over four years is from the Bureau of Labor

Statistics.

I say that the dollar has lost 25 cents over over four years, which is devastating.

But I don't know.

Does that fit with your experience at all?

I'm not seeing that at all.

A much more precise estimate that I saw about just groceries alone showed 35 percent. That

seems a little closer. But depending on what you're buying, it could be 50 percent. It could be 75

percent or more. It's really quite devastating. But even over four years, this is roughly

similar to what happened between, say, 1978 and 1980, or that during that period.

It's a very close approximation of the change in the way they calculated it has actually been

devastated. It affects everything. It affects inflation adjustments. There's no easy way to find out

the truth about economic data anymore. You know, they report retail sales and factory orders and

real prices. You're invited to do the conversion yourself. You can, but you cannot use official
