burger chef where the infamous burger chef murders were in Speedway in the 1970s.

Right so to reset for those for the younger members of our audience

burger chef was a very broad chain of hamburger

restaurants I think they had 1200 at their height but I mean they were

national they were national they were not quite a rival to

McDonald's but I mean they were playing in that vein they were up there with like

Burger King and Wendy's but yeah and they were based out of Indianapolis and they were all over the place here in Indy and now you'll still see a lot of Burger Chef buildings that are dry cleaners and pawn shops and various other buildings.

So the Burger Chef legacy still lives on.

But in 1978, there were four Burger Chef employees

that just disappeared from the Burger Chef out in Speedway and then I think they found them dead in a field down in Johnson County.

Yeah, and obviously it remains an incredible mystery.

Yeah, no arrests were ever made.

It was, yeah.
