The The Hello John Williams fans we are celebrating the Maestro's 88th birthday

which will have just happened by the time you get this recording and we are

wishing him the various happiest of birthdays and

many many many many more years of health and music and of course as always joined here it's Ron Longo.

Hey Laird and I'm excited for this special.

God 88 years young Laird you know that's amazing and like you said many many more to come yes he's now the

same age is the number of keys on his hundred year old plus stineway piano

so that's amazing.

I don't know if he blows out all the keys instead of blowing out the candles of the cake.

But he'll be celebrating this weekend with a number, you know, at least one event, it's probably part of our news items and maybe

that's a good place to start. Sure absolutely so well the first news item that

I had that everyone knows and Laird I'll let you take that

that you just you talked about but I was going to start off by talking about saying

congratulations to John Williams for his Oscar nod number, for getting nominated for an Academy Award for the Rise of

Skywalkers.

So that was some exciting news.

Yeah, absolutely.

At our last special, we knew that Rise of Skywalkers had been on the short list, but we did not know yet if it would be nominated and right after we recorded and released the show of course the nominations came out number 52 we are rooting hard, so we're recording before the Oscars and probably that will be happening

before we drop the show as well. So you may all be listening to this now and going like oh or

you're going yay and I don't know stiff competition in the other

nominations yeah but wouldn't that be something if he did win that I'm in the other nominations.
