Something else that's going on here in Indiana, the Indiana National Guard started a 12-month deployment to the southern border.

Big price tag, $9 million. So the first deployment ended in late February, and now a new

group of 50 soldiers are going to be sent shortly, and this is all part of Operation Lone Star.

Well, okay. First of all, God bless the people who serve in the National Guard and are willing to do that.

And, you know, it's like pre-Iraq war, everybody was kind of like, oh, the National Guard, what a great way to get all your benefits and not have any sort of, you know, intense obligation like we traditionally, you know, associate with, with troops in the

army or navy or whatever. But in a post-9-11 world, the National Guard has been used so much

and more and more in such diverse areas and ways that they are oftentimes every bit as involved

as, you know, a traditional soldier might be.

And you think about the life that these people are living and now are going to be away from

their families and everything else, which is what you sign up for.

There's obviously benefits to being in the National Guard.

And part of it you give, you get.

And but for these people, they're to to give and risk their lives potentially

in order to now i don't think they're on the ground with a lot of hand-to-hand combat i think it's a lot

of logistics etc that they're going to be assisting the border patrol with but still i mean

you're uprooting your existence and and thank you to those people that are willing to do it so

governor holcomb he authorized that 10-month deployment last year,
