Welcome to For Your Amusement, a theme park podcast that aims to exhaustively evaluate the world's most popular theme park attractions to determine if they are world class.

0:12.7

I'm Ryan Bergara. I'm Byron Morin. And for this episode's featured attraction, we had to look, didn't we, at Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland, California. And joining us in the angry gaze of a tourist hating Dr. Jones is theme park journalist Scott Gustin. Thank you for joining us, Scott. And as always, go ahead and like and subscribe if you're watching this on YouTube.com slash watch your podcast. Or subscribe and rate the podcast five stars if you're just listening. And hey, tell a friend, it helps keep us going here and keep this show alive. But once again, thank you for joining us, Scott. Yeah, thanks for having me. Joining us in the Tiki Room. For those of you who aren't watching the video version of this, I have come in full cosplay as Indiana Jones. There's really nothing for me to add beyond that. It's a little embarrassing.

0:55.3

I'd expect nothing less.

0:56.7

We are recording a theme park podcast.

0:58.7

So I think I threw all that out the door.

1:01.5

Scott, why did you pick this attraction?

1:03.5

So I first went to Disneyland.

1:06.2

It was like 10 years ago.

1:07.7

And I just won't forget the feeling of riding that attraction. I had heard

1:12.7

all the hype for it. But entering that main room on that attraction, the glory hall. Yeah, it was like

1:19.0

a light went off where I was opened up to a whole other level of expectations for a theme park ride.

1:28.3

That was just that immersive, like overwhelming emotional feeling.

1:33.3

And that is still one of my favorite moments to have that wow moment in a theme park.

1:39.5

Even new attractions, rise of the resistance, kind of have that same feeling, but that one's still

1:46.2

at the top where I was just like, this is the way you're supposed to feel.

1:50.0

Like when you see something, you're supposed to not understand how you are in this world.

1:55.2

So it's incredible.

1:57.2

And for those of you who don't know Scott's work, he's pretty much at the forefront of the battle here in terms of keeping us all up to date on anything theme park related.

2:07.4

He's kind of my number one go-to source for any kind of breaking news.

2:11.0

Scott, how long have you been doing this?

2:12.8

Were you always in the theme parks?

2:14.1

Or was that something that Indiana Jones kind of turned you on to?
