All eyes may have been on New York City's mayor race last night,

but the biggest upset might have actually been in the state's second largest city,

which could soon see the country's first socialist mayor in half a century.

In Buffalo, New York, in June of 2021,

India Walton beat four-term incumbent mayor, Byron Brown,

and the Democratic primary.

She was 39, a registered nurse, mother of four kids.

The political establishment was shocked, and so was she.
