In India, there are warnings of water shortages

after officials there recorded the highest ever temperature

for the capital deli at 52.3 degrees Celsius,

shattering the record set just 24 hours earlier. India is of course no stranger to

searing summer temperatures, but climate change is making heat waves

longer, more frequent and more intense. The heat wave was also smashing records across other

parts of the country, with the extreme heat taking its toll on

everyone including relatively fit young students who were rushed to

hospital after collapsing at a school in Bihar. This doctor said the extreme heat wave was making them ill.
