Summary

Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, reflects on an article by Aaron Sibarium, “The Takeover of America’s Legal System.” Sibarium writes, “At Boston College Law School this semester, a constitutional law professor asked students: ‘Who does not think we should scrap the constitution?’ According to a student in the class, not a single person raised their hand.” Why? Because truth is no longer as important as virtue signaling. Sibarium goes on to report that “Last year, NASDAQ demanded that companies listing shares on its exchanges meet racial and gender quotas.” And “Lawyers at top law firms in New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles said they fret constantly about saying the wrong thing—or taking on the wrong client.” As such, “Religious liberty cases” are “totally off the table.” The reality is that “progressives have set about repurposing the law.” Even “the principle that one is innocent until proven guilty” seems to be in question. “At stake…is the American justice system itself.” Justice no longer being about the equal application of the law as much as about “the preferences of those in power.

Hi, this is Hank Hanegraph, president of the Christian Research Institute and hosts of the Bible Answerman broadcast with another Hank unplug short.

0:23.6

I just now finished reading an article titled The Takeover of America's Legal System.

0:27.6

It's a pretty long article around 20 pages, so I can't do it justice in a short.

0:33.6

But I do want to make a couple of comments to give voice to my feelings as a result of reading this article.

0:45.9

One of the things that stands out in my mind, even now as I speak, is that at Boston College Law School,

0:57.3

a constitutional law professor asked his students,

1:04.6

who does not think we should scrap the Constitution?

1:11.6

According to a student in the class, not a single person raised their hand. Why?

1:12.6

Because truth is no longer as important as virtue signaling.

1:20.6

Last year, the NASDAQ demanded that companies listing shares on their platform meet racial and gender quotas. Lawyers at top

1:32.2

law firms in America now fret about saying the wrong thing or taking on the wrong client.

1:39.7

As such, religious liberty cases are, well, are said to be totally off the table.

1:47.7

Progressives have set about repurposing the law, and they have been incredibly successful in doing just that.

1:58.7

Even the principle of innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt now seems to be in

2:04.3

question. At stake is the American justice system itself. Justice no longer being about the

2:13.9

equal application of the law as much as about the preferences of those in power.

2:23.0

As I constantly remind my listeners, it's not enough to curse darkness.

2:29.6

If you have the opportunity, you need to build a lighthouse in the midst of the gathering storm.

2:38.5

And if you can't do that, at least light a candle.

2:44.0

Thanks for tuning in. You know, You know,
