to tell this important story, so let's listen and let the word wash our hearts. And they brought him to the place called Galgotha, which means place of a

skull. And they offered him wine mixed with murr, but he did not take it.

And they crucified him and divided his garments among them,

casting lots for them to decide what each should take.

And it was the third hour when they crucified him.

I delivered to you as a first importance what I also received that Christ

died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.

For it is written,

cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.

For our sake, who is hanged on a tree.

For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross.

It read, Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.

Many of the Jews read this inscription

for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city,

and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek.

So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate,

Do not write the King of the Jews, but rather,
