The Appalachian Trail stretches 2,200 miles between Georgia and Maine, passing through 14 states along the ancient Appalachian mountain range of the eastern United States.

Some of Mother Earth's most majestic terrain can be experienced while traversing the AT, a monster of a trail that calls

more than 3 million people each year into its many mouse. The surrounding woods always

managing, to swallow a few when no one's looking. Almost all who become lost are located within

24 hours. It's nearly unheard of for a search and rescue crew

to see the two-day mark. Only 1% of those who lose the trail never make it back. This,

unfortunately, is one of the rare and tragic stories to come off the trail and never return.

Hey, do you hike?

Absolutely.

This is something I started doing more often in the last few years, and it has a lot to do with

where I live.

I live just outside a major city.

And so for me to relax, take the stress off, stop and smell the flowers, that's a common

phrase we've heard. I need to do that by hiking. So you get out there, you forget about your phone

for a while, and you just breathe and look around and enjoy

nature. Yeah, I do the same. It's nice just to be surrounded, like be immersed in it, right? Get away

from the city for a bit. And even the small town that I live in, just to get away from people

and just be out there, I find I do a lot of my best thinking while hiking as well.
