Today on In the Trenches, we go down memory lane on the baseball side of things.

We've got Jimmy Kerr, Carl Kaufman, Tommy Henry, and Jordan Brewer going down memory lane of what happened almost one year ago today when you're listening to this because it is supposed to be the time that we are

celebrating the college baseball world series. So we're going to take a look back at Michigan's

epic run in last year's college world series. We also have a message from Dr. Schlessel,

the president of the University of Michigan. We'll get to all of that on In the Trenches.

Let's go in the trenches with John Jansen. The former Wolverines captain in Michigan Sports

Hall of Famer will take you inside the locker room with players and coaches. No one thought

that a Midwest team can make it that far. No one thought a Midwest team could play with SEC teams or ACC teams.

And we wanted to shock people.

We wanted to tell people like, hey, Michigan, we can play.

Once again, here's John Jansen.

If you didn't listen to or you didn't catch last week's podcast, we had Hunter Reynolds

and Adam Shibley talking about being reintroduced to Ann Arbor,

meeting their teammates again for the first time, as well as both those guys are seniors,

and they are on the anti-hate, anti-racism coalition that the Big Ten has started up. So take a listen

back to them. Also, we had Ward Manual talking about the same

things, you know, bringing the student athletes back to the University of Michigan, everything

that's gone into it. He goes into great depth. And as of the recording last week and right now as

well, there were only two student athletes that had tested positive

out of testing a little bit more than 220. So student athletes are continuing to come back.

We're trying to find ways as a university, as a athletic department to make sure that the

number one thing is their health and their safety. And Michigan is doing an outstanding job of that.
