You and I are going to be in some of the most familiar scenes in all the Gospels.

One of the beautiful things about the Word of God that separates it from any other text in this world is that it is a living word.

It's a God-breathed word.

And what he can do that we don't experience elsewhere is that he can take very

familiar words and he can all the sudden just inhale and exhale fresh breath on them and all

the sudden that which has been so familiar to you does an unfamiliar work in your heart.

Hallelujah and amen. You may be seated. Luke chapter five, Luke chapter five, we are about to start

reading at verse one and I'll read all the way through verse 11, but let me tell you a little bit

about what you have coming and perhaps you have already guessed it, but you and I are going boating in the scriptures

together. We're going to either be on a boat, around a boat, at the edge of a boat, right on

the shore, somewhere around the one singular body of water that you're going to see it right

here in Luke chapter 5 as we take a boat tour in

all four gospels will start with Dr. Luke's version chapter 5 verse 1 as the crowd was pressing in on

Jesus to hear God's word I can't get much further than that.

I wonder how many servants of churches we have in this place.

When was the last time you saw people just pressing in to hear the word of God?

Wouldn't it be something if God began to work among us in such a way and in this part

of the country where for whatever unexplainable reason in human terms, he just began to draw

people to lean in to hear the word that we would press in of all the things we wanted to press in

about? That most of all we want to press in to hear the Word of God.
