These are just a few of the topics I recently discussed with the great James B. Mills. If you're not familiar, James is the author of Billy the Kid Bandito Sampadico, a book that I

personally feel is one of the more definitive biographies on William H. Bonnie. And James's new book

in the days of Billy the Kid cover several of Bonnie's associates. Guys like the aforementioned,

Jose Chavez-I-Chavez, Juan Patron, Yinio Salazar, and the way underrated, Martin Chavez.

It's actually mind-blowing that Martin Chavez is not yet a household name, which you'll hear all about him in just a few minutes.

And this really was a great conversation.

Like I said, we'll get to it in a moment, but we talk about everything from the

Society of Bandits to the Battle of Lincoln and who was actually in charge during the battle,

whether or not Billy the Kid and Jesse James knew one another, the Cattle King John Chisholm,

and even the White Caps uprising. Now, before we get started, just a very quick disclaimer,

you may notice that my head is down during a good portion of the conversation.

And as such, it doesn't really appear as if I'm all that engaged.

But I can assure you that was not the case whatsoever.
