Summary
After taking a night off we wanted to stay in Cuncelina, but this team just wouldn't let us. The Mets beat the Nationals 11-6 in a slugfest designed to get every Mets fan back on their side!! Top to bottom the order crushed, Alonso and Dom went back-to-back and we got great defensive plays out of Nimmo and Gimenez. For fans on the fence, we don't fault you for believing, but just know that they are building you up to break you down. On any given night this team can play with the best of them. They look complete and they do the things you need to do to win baseball games, only problem is the top performances are way too few and far between. So for now we'll tip our caps from Cuncelina and take the Ws when we can get them.
