Hello, everybody. Welcome in to the Packaday podcast, our 365 day a year Packers podcast. And on this day,

we will not be talking about the Green Bay Packers. I'm your host, Andy Herman. This is a Packers podcast.

And in general, we are going to talk about Packers more often than not, but there's a hierarchy

to things, right? If you're a Packers podcast, that means you're an NFL podcast, that means

you're a football podcast. And sometimes in the football world, there are things that are going

to happen that supersede the Packers and that supersede sports, football, etc. And on Monday night, during Monday night football, one of those

events happened. And not the episode I was expecting to record. We've got a lot of stuff

coming up from a Packer standpoint that's going to be super relevant and that matters a ton.

And there will be a time and a place for that. That time of the place is not right now.

Obviously, DeMar Hamlin, safety for the bills suffered a, I don't even know what to call it,

a traumatic event. And it's more than an injury, obviously. And as i'm recording this right now he's in critical

condition in a Cincinnati hospital and my hope and my prayer and my energy and my thoughts

and everything else is just hoping that that that stays that way that he's you know he's able

to uh maintain in the hospital and get

out of critical condition and continue to improve um i don't have a ton of words to say he

obviously had the scary collision with t higgins he stands up he collapses it's an absolutely

horrifying horrifying scene that

nobody wants to experience and nobody wants to witness, but is part of this very dangerous

game that we know and we love and we watch on a weekly basis. I was quickly reminded of the Christian Erickson situation from Euro 2020

in which he was just running and he collapsed on the field. And it's a different situation.

Clearly Erickson was just running and he collapsed, whereas there was an actual impact

in this situation between Higgins and Damar Hamlin.
