This is the third installment of our series

In Search of Home Solutions to the Homeless Crisis. In part one, we talked about a program that's

been shown to prevent people from losing their homes. In part two, we talked about that period

in which people are becoming unsheltered and where they can turn for help. Today, for part three, we're going

to delve into the next phase, which is how do you find housing after you've gone through

a period, maybe an extended period of homelessness? How do you escape the difficulties and traumas

of life outside? For many policymakers, the goal would be for homelessness to be a, quote,

brief and rare occurrence, but the housing market in the Bay Area is tough, especially when you're

very low income or you experience a financial shock. Once you're living in a vehicle or a tent,

coming back inside can feel like an insurmountable task. We're joined this morning by Vivian Wan,

Chief Executive Officer of Abode, a nonprofit that provides services and housing in the Bay Area. Welcome.
