in pursuit of peace. Today's daily devotion from Pastor Greg Laurie.

Our scripture reading today is from Romans 12 verse 18. Do all that you can to live in peace

0:17.4

with everyone. Sometimes you can't live peaceably with some people. They're ill-tempered and don't

0:23.2

want to get along with anyone, including you. That's what the Bible says, do all that you can to

0:28.3

live in peace with everyone. Notice the phrase, do all that you can. This means you make the effort.

Jesus said, so if you're presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the temple and you suddenly

0:38.9

remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar,

0:43.4

go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. For instance,

0:49.2

let's say that someone has wronged you when you're angry about it. You're at church worshipping,

0:53.3

but you can't stop thinking about what they did to you. Something is wrong. It's hindering your

0:57.7

prayer life. You need to go to that person and try to resolve the conflict. It may be just a

1:02.8

misunderstanding. Maybe you say, the other day you made this comment, and this is the way I took it.

1:07.8

Is that how you meant it? Of course not, they reply. The last thing I want to do is offend you.

1:13.0

On the other hand, they might tell you that's exactly what they meant, and then say something

1:17.2

even worse to offend you. What do you do then? You've done what you were supposed to do. If they

1:22.4

don't want to reconcile with you, then it's become their problem. Put it into the hands of God and

1:27.6

pray for them. If they want to stay mad at you, then let it go. When you've made the effort,

1:32.7

when you've tried your reconcil, you can know that you've done your part, and you can come before

1:37.5

God with a clean conscience.
