To live a righteous life means to be characterized by incessant gratitude, because incessant

gratitude means that you have a grip on the goodness of God in your life, that you're

literally swept up in what God is doing in your life.

You have a Godward focus, and that's the essence of righteous living.

Well, it's Thanksgiving week here in the United States. It's a wonderful time to reflect on God's goodness. And of course, for Christians, every day should be a day of thanks

because of the profound blessings we have in Jesus Christ. And with that in mind, we're airing a

timely message by John MacArthur today titled In Everything Give Thanks,

helping you see how the gospel of grace leads to a life of thankfulness.

We'll get to that in a minute, but first, as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches,

I'd like to take a minute to thank friends like you who make broadcasts like this possible. The faithfulness of friends

like you is something that John MacArthur never took for granted. So let's listen to some comments

John made once along those lines. It is absolutely top priority for gratitude before the Lord.

This ministry wouldn't even exist if it weren't for so many

faithful, supporting friends. Wherever I go, there are always people who come and say, thank you

for grace to you, and to whom I can then say, thank you for making that possible. And I'm serious

when I say that. We appreciate you. We can't be where we are

doing what we do without you. I thank the Lord for your willingness to be a part of supporting

and praying for us. And especially grace partners, that's kind of a sort of a step up from just

the normal giving. You are regular friends of this ministry

in a consistent way, and you support us. Even though you're far away, there's a bond that is

very strong. Again, I'm amazed. I was in a crowd of several thousand people, and people kept saying,
