The mystery and the miracle of the birth of Christ was the fulfillment of the promise that God would be with his people.

The very name Emmanuel means God with us, and Jesus Christ is our Emmanuel.

In this study, Scott Pauley reminds us of our ever-present Savior, God with us.

In recent decades, people who study social movements and civilizations have started labeling generations.

So you have the baby boomers and Generation X and the Millennials and Generation Z and on and on.

And while I understand that there are unique things about each generation,

I think sometimes it's very non-productive

because it causes people to think that every generation is totally different from every other

generation, when in fact, people are people. And perhaps more important than that is the remembrance

that God is God. In every generation, God is God. Remember, His truth endures to all generations.

That's how the Bible can say that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

And might I say, the sooner you as a follower of Jesus Christ recognize the constant presence

of God in your life, the more consistent your life is going to be.

It brings stability in a very unstable world when you recognize that though certainly the

mores of society change and governments change and trends come and go and people are fickle

and we change over time, God is always the same.

He declared in Malachi, I am the Lord, I change not.

So we return to our study in Joshua chapter one today
