I met Satguru really through happenstance a few years ago. I was walking my dog down the street

and I ran into Craig Johnson, who is my neighbor. He was walking his dog and he stopped me and

said, oh, I just came back from this amazing retreat and you have to do this retreat. I'm like,

yeah, yeah, yeah, let me continue to walk my dog. He said, no, you have to go to this retreat and

he described to me the retreat and he described to me Satguru. And I said, well, you know, I'm kind of

open for anything. So let's talk about it another time. And then a few weeks later, it just will

happen that Satguru is in town and he invited me over to their house for dinner. He and Nikki,

where is Nikki? There's Nikki right there. Many of you guys may know Nikki as the founder of

Spirit House in Woodside. She puts on some amazing programs. Please look into them. So Nikki and

CJ had my wife and I over for dinner. We got to know Satguru a little bit and I found his

perspectives very provocative, very different and kind of worthwhile to step back and think about

him a little bit. I then accepted an invitation to go to a three-day retreat that he held and again,

I found it to be really interesting and maybe think about a lot of new things. So we've been striking

up a friendship over the last few years and he's now out with a new book. The book is here and it's

called Inner Engineering, a yogi's guide to joy and there's actually a bunch of copies that

the publisher Random House has donated outside. If you want to grab one, please feel free to do that

where he talks about some of his perspectives on Inner Engineering away to have better control

over your mind, your body, your energy, your emotions. So the objective tonight is really just

to have a conversation about the challenges and the things that our kids, our teenagers are facing.

I have three teenagers, most of you guys have many teenagers and let's talk about that. I've got

a handful of questions that I can pose to Satguru and he'll have interesting perspectives on those,

but then I really want to get you guys involved to have you guys ask questions and start a dialogue.
