A huge decision taken by you in December to call a halt to your career,

and what a glorious career it was, but when Liberty Dance crossed the line in front,

had your mind been made up, or was it a really difficult decision

to end your your riding career? No, no, I wasn't a difficult decision.

There was difficult, I suppose, it was never difficult. No, look,

people have been trying to retire me for the last seven years, you know,

when you reach a certain age, they feel that you're kind of obliged to

announce the retirement, but I was really enjoying the last couple of years riding,

and it was fantastic. Obviously, I had a nasty injury, and I thought it was important,

you know, when I was given the outlier that I made the full recovery and came back in road,

and I was over the moon with the decision I made there, and then, you know, I'm 43 years of age,

I could have lowered on, there's no doubt about it, I could have lowered on, I was very happy

with the way everything was going, but it's just, I didn't really want to go bitter to the whole

thing and end up the decision me stopping for, to be, you know, an injury or are

really drawing off or something to that effect, you know what I mean, I just wanted to get there
