We're going to school today, all of us, and it is quite a school. We are entering Christ classroom. Luke

chapter 11, verse number one, the disciples said, Lord, teach us to pray. We're dealing with

this matter of really learning how to pray. I must confess to you after all these years

of praying and preaching and teaching about prayer and hearing people talk about

prayer, I still feel like I'm in kindergarten, like I'm in elementary school. I have so much to

learn. And even so many things that I have learned, I need refreshed in my heart and I need to

apply them more. Do you feel that way? Well, if you do, then you're a candidate to sit in this

classroom and learn from the Lord Jesus. I want to take three words today that are found in

this opening prayer. Lord, teach us. Let's look at each one of them for just a moment. First of all,

think about the Lord. Who are they addressing here? The Lord is a worthy instructor.

Why is he a worthy instructor? Well, for several reasons. Number one, because he is a praying

person himself. And notice that they ask him to teach them to pray while he was in his own prayer

place. He had a place. The Bible says in a certain place.

Could that have been Gessimony, perhaps? I believe Gessimony was Christ's prayer closet.

Judas knew exactly where he had gone because he oftentimes went there. The Bible says,

but nevertheless, he had a definite place. And he had a time. The Bible says, when he ceased praying.

Some people say, well, I just pray all the time and I pray everywhere.

I would suggest to you, if you're not serious enough about it to have a time and a place,
