So I'm going to do something a little bit challenging this morning. I'm going to have two conversations with you.

And one is a conversation I don't really want to have, but it's essential.

I was on an airplane coming back from Dallas when my phone came up with an announcement

that Charlie Kirk had been killed, or actually shot. I didn't know if he had lived or died. And when I saw that he'd been shot,

I thought maybe it was just some kind of fake news. And, you know, if you've been on social

media at all, you know not to trust 90% of the things you see. So I was uncertain. And

it was confirmed very, very quickly. And then, of course,

by the time I get home, we knew he was dead. And I posted something about Charlie Kurt,

and it was fascinating to me, the array of responses I received. And I felt that that was perhaps even more

disturbing and telling than his assassination, which is as bad as he can get. And so I wanted to take a few

minutes and talk about that.

And it's a really troubling moment in so many ways.
