Summary

New scientific findings show that natural light, and light bulbs which closely mimic natural light, are closely tied to optimal memory formation. Light anchors the timing of our circadian rhythms, impacting sleep. The better you sleep, the better you encode memory. Indoor light bulbs which have less natural tones and brightness can have a detrimental effect on memory. Even if you optimize your indoor conditions, it’s important to get outside regularly. Technology that pulses light shows promise if you’re a jet-lagged traveler, shift worker, or someone who stays out late on weekends. https://drruscio.com/?p=27834

And I'd like to keep a foot in academia as I continue to do what I do once I graduate, but my plan isn't to be an academic.

doing research confers. And so it's been a great experience. But yeah, nice to be here with you

1:27.3

degree of clarity when you have a conversation with someone who is both involved in academics and then in some way the clinical setting.

1:35.5

1:49.8

And you can also get wrapped up in false associations or just biasing yourself.

1:54.6

And that's where I think the rigor of academics not only keeps you abreast to new developments, but also helps you analyze things that you're seeing in a more accurate frame.

1:59.5

And yeah, I mean, so I think it's a great mix to have both
