Today's tip is about how to make your conference calls more efficient and effective.

If you work with people located in different places,

conference calls are just part of the game these days.

They definitely serve a purpose,

but they can also be frustrating for all involved.

Here is a short list of the frustrations.

People have lousy reception.

Or maybe worse, their reception is good

and you pick up on the background noise. People don't pay attention.

The conversation meanders because it's hard to read cues and with too many people on the call

tangential topics get introduced.

And then there's the matter of punctuality.
