Study after study has demonstrated that higher intensity exercise is more efficient than low intensity exercise

and producing something called BDNF, which is brain-derived neurotrophic factor.

And BDNF is a protein that promotes the growth of the new brain cells.

For years, high-intensity exercise was studied as a function of athletics.

How can we push the athletes to train out of higher intensity to be more competitive on the field?

Well, in the early 2000s, high-intensity programs like CrossFit started becoming much more popular.

And the scientists were going, wait a minute, I thought these type of workouts were only for athletes,

but people seem to be enjoying them and doing them in the gym.

So it's been since about the early 2000s, there have been a couple labs researching the benefits of high-intensity exercise on health and on the general population.

So in the last 15 years, we have this huge volume of research piling up saying, hey,

you know, all that exercise we had our athletes doing in their teens and

20s, well, guess what? It's good for us in our 50s and 60s.
