I'm like, what in the world? This is from America Red Cross. What is it?

So I'm funneling through all the papers and then all of a sudden I see this in big letters.

We cannot use your blood because it was tested and we found HIV antibodies in your blood.

Right there my heart stops.

And how old were you then?

I was 16 years old.

And then from there I went to the doctor and got on an arrangement of medicine.

And I've been under technical ever since.

Being diagnosed with this autoimmune deficiency isn't a death sentence anymore.

Because of the advances in medicine, it's possible for people to live a long and healthy life.

To have sex and not pass on HIV to their partner.

But the stigma that became attached to HIV during the height of the AIDS crisis is still ongoing.
