Brett and you are watching The Red Minus. So this is our new podcast. This is only our second episode

that Brett and I are working on and our goal is to take classic works of leftist

theory and bring it in an accessible format so we can discuss it and so you can understand it.

And what's really important for us is that we don't believe that theory isn't end in its own.

We think that theory is a way to make our activism and our organizing more efficient and more effective. And our goal is to take these texts and apply them to the modern day

so that you can use them in order to actually engage in organizing.

So to that end we've broken up our episodes into three sections.

In the first we're going to take the text that we've chosen and we're going to try to

highlight the important themes, draw out the main insights from the text.

In the second we have questions prepared for each other so we'll have a little back and forth discussion.

And then in the third section,

we have some more long form reflections

on how this text applies today and what it is

that we can get from it when we look at using it for our organizing and our
