Welcome to Imperfect Paradise. I'm Nereida Moreno.

This fall's midterm elections are considered by many to be one of the most consequential in recent U.S. history.

Democrats trying to figure out a strategy to take back control of the U.S. House.

Republicans facing political headwinds in this year's midterm elections.

And will serve as a referendum on President Donald Trump's second term.

Voters will decide the balance of power in Washington and potentially reshape the makeup of

state and local governments, as well as parts of the judicial system. In California,

the governor's race is wide open. None with a strong lead means anything can still happen. Multiple congressional seats are up

for grabs, and that's just the races at the top of the ballot. But who or what ends up on the

midterm ballot depends on the outcome of the June primaries. The field of candidates seeking to

unseat Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is set.

So how can you make the most informed decision about what candidates to vote for during the primary
